① Book - Proust Was A Neuroscientist by Jonah Lehrer

It’s not just because I love Proust (though that helps), but because this book brilliantly explores how artists, across disciplines and eras, intuitively understood the brain long before science caught up. It’s a fascinating, dynamic journey through memory, taste, theology, and the beautiful ways our brains make sense of the world. It goes into how memory functions, how the brain fills in liminal spaces, and how art often arrives at truths science eventually confirms. My favorite chapters are those on Stravinsky and Gertrude Stein. It’s one of those books you wish would never end!

② COLOR GLAZE Lip & Cheek Pigment

I always keep Color Glaze in Hibiscus on me—a berry tone I didn’t expect to love as much as I do. I used to shy away from it, but now it’s the one shade that instantly makes me look fresh and alive.

I keep this powder everywhere—car, bag, bathroom. It’s the perfect size; I’ve even fit it in my pocket. I clearly have a thing for anything mini and easy to carry.

⑤ Journal

My notebook is basically my Notes app IRL. I’ve been trying not to be too precious with it and just write more. I’m a perfectionist, so next time I’m going to try spiral bound to see if it changes the way I write.

⑥ Wired Headphones

I’m a wire-headphone girl forever. They never die on you, take up no space, and they look cute! After class, I always get on FaceTime and walk home; it’s my little way of catching up since I barely have time for social stuff between work and school.

⑦ VELVET BLUR

Matte Lipstick Balm in shade Suede. It’s a cool-toned brown that’s buildable and balmy, so I can decide the level of drama I want. During the day I literally just dab a little and blend with my fingers. I never leave without my Suede.

⑧ Unreleased lip balm

This is an unreleased lip balm formula we’ve been testing. I always have at least two different samples in my bag at any given time. It takes us forever to approve a formula once development starts because it has to be tested over weeks, sometimes months! We send it out to our friends and favorite makeup artists for feedback too. We’re constantly iterating.
