WHAT'S IN MY BAG
① Sunglasses
I have extremely sensitive eyes and apparently cannot face daylight unassisted.
② Lip balm formula
New formula from the lab that I’ve been testing out.
③ Mason Pearson brush
Never leave the house without it.
④ Muji pen and notebook
A gift, now assigned to field notes and thoughts that could absolutely have gone in my Notes app.

⑤ Hair clips
My favorite hair clips my friend got me from Japan.
⑥ Santa Maria Novella perfume
⑦ Dhikr Counter
I love this thing. It’s a digital substitute for traditional prayer beads. In Islam it’s used to keep count while repeating phrases in remembrance of God. I give them to friends from other faiths too, for mantras, prayers, or even counting blessings.
⑧ Eyebrow brush
I have very thick brows. Without this, they start making their own decisions.
⑨ Color Glaze in Hibiscus
My go to shade when I want to look a little more alive. I always reapply my blush while I’m out and this color makes you look like you eat vegetables and drink a good amount of water.
⑩ Hydramelt
Is probably our most versatile product. Whenever my skin looks a little dull, I apply it and it gives me an instant glow. There’s no shimmer or glitter. It just makes your skin look naturally hydrated and healthy. I also use it as a lip balm.
⑪ Soft Blur Powder
Essential. Once I left the house without it and I had to go back and get it. Now I have one in my car too so it’s always near.
⑫ Velvet Blur in Suede
My favorite shade of lipstick. It’s a cool toned brown.
⑬ Earphones
I have never once owned a pair of AirPods. I’ve always been a wire earphone girl through and through.
⑭ Toothbrush/toothpaste
Non-negotiable. I brush my teeth with the enthusiasm most people reserve for hobbies.
⑮ Alcohol prep pad
For wiping down my phone and sanitizing my hands before I inevitably end up doing my makeup in the car.
⑯ Earl Grey tea bag
I need the bergamot on hand for emergencies.
⑰ Kerasilk Flyaway Wand
Basically mascara for your hair.
